Matthew holds a Master’s degree from The Chicago School in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Counseling in 2007. Matthew began his clinical career as a school counselor at The Science and Arts Academy, an elementary/middle school for gifted children. He then left the school setting to focus on private practice and became a leading clinician in the Chicagoland area in the counseling of gifted/talented children and adolescents.
In Matt's professional career, he has had the privilege of a variety of experience which he believes helps him in his current position with Pinnacle Behavioral Health. Matt has been a preschool/elementary school teacher, a Chief Operating Officer for a pharmaceutical consulting company, a youth and college soccer coach, a trainer for young athletes as well as professional athletes, as well as a consultant to families throughout the country for parents of children/adolescents struggling with asynchronous learning profiles.
In 2013, Matt opened a DBT based Intensive Outpatient Program in Chicago as part of The Family Recovery Centers. After five great years of growing, learning, and developing the program in Chicago, Matt met Dr. Lisa Karabelnik and eagerly agreed to bring the program to Connecticut.
